A Large cavas, acrylic, oils & collage

A very well know meeting place in Melbourne, Australia is the iconic Block Arcade built around 1893 with stunning mosaic floors & a beautiful glass domed ceiling. As a young girl setting off on my design career I would meet friends here ‘under the Dome’, a very special place for me as I later became a shop owner in the arcade. I am a little obsessed with the architecture of ‘The Block’ & in particular the mosaic floor which is modelled on the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele of Milan. I have made scarves and painted works depicting the mosaic floor and I dream dreams of magical events filling the centre with Australian flora & fauna, wild & exotic butterflies in abundance.  The collage paper is very special to me as it is from my original scarf designs made in Italy. Meet me under the Dome’ shares my love of mixed media abstract including acrylic, oils, transfer, pen & collage art and dreaming !
