Mermaid In My Bath by Rosemary Legat – Acrylic paint, acrylic ink, spray paint, collage and soft pastels on stretched canvas.

Countless layers of paint, spray painted stencilling followed by further intuitive abstract layers of paint and ink until my canvas became a watery whirlpool of colours, movement and depth.

During this layering process I kept thinking of what bath water looks like after tossing in a luxury Lush bath bomb which led to the inspiration behind this fantasy piece which developed with each additional layer.

The sides of the canvas have been painted in a very dark bluey black.

I hope you like this mystical beauty as much as I enjoyed creating her.
