Misshapen Eucalyptus Leaves drawing No 5 by Meg Shaw

I’m fascinated by distressed Eucalyptus leaves which are the inspiration for this drawing. The bumps, holes and twists of leaves constantly give me ideas. I like to exaggerate their imperfections in my interpretations.

‘Misshapen Eucalyptus Leaves’ is an original hand drawing, inspired by Australia’s natural environments. The composition exits the borders of the paper, rather than being framed within the edges. It has been finished with a protective coating of Kamar varnish and framing behind glass is recommended. This piece will be sent to you in a flat package, protected by recycled cardboard. As I live in rural Tasmania now, please allow a little more time for delivery. Thank you.

This drawing, ‘Misshapen Eucalyptus Leaves’ (sepia) is #5 in the series of my leaf drawings. I used a variety of coloured pencils, including Prismacolor, Derwents and Faber Castell on cotton paper. It measures approximately 29.5 x 21.5 cm.
