Additional Information

As I started blocking out an old painting with white and beige colours, I started adding a few more subtle tones to create a completely unplanned painting. I am always very wary of Yellow, but added just a touch to give it the boost it needed. With black painting around the edges of the thick canvas, the painting has a real glow to it. I liked these colours so much I went on painting over quite a few other old works to create a series. In this particular piece, the painting underneath was quite textured, so this has resulted in a very interesting contrast of the soft colours, and rough surface. It also draws you into the painting. It may not have all the colours of the rainbow, but it has all the class of Richie Benauds cream, beige, off-white sports jacket!
