A ‘MOUNTAIN BLUEBIRD” is a uniquely original 3D abstract art piece inspired by a combination of the colours and feather details of the mountain bird and the layered effect of juju hats.
Juju hats originated in Africa and are worn in tribal ceremonies as decorative headpieces and represent wealth and prosperity.
Feathers are seen as a symbol that is associated with spiritual evolution to a higher plane.
Blue is the color of communication, sincerity, truthfulness, the expression of yourself and trust in others.
This piece comprises of hundreds of individually crafted, hand cut and hand painted paper feathers that are individually painted with a beautiful high quality acrylic paint. These feathers are then carefully layered on a high quality white canvas to create the unique 3D design.
This artwork isn’t behind any glasswork or Perspex as it’s designed as 3D paper collage on top of the canvas where you can feel and see the textures and dimensions.
From a distance the artwork looks like a painting or a print but the closer you get to it, you will start to see the 3D design and its texture.
The feathers themselves are made of a high quality thick multimedia paper and painted in a high quality acrylic paint .
The canvas itself has been painted with white gesso as a first step and then further topped up with a number of layers of pure white acrylic paint to ensure the bright white background.
The finished artwork is then sprayed a number of times with a matt artist spray finish protection coat ( MICADOR, which is an invisible plastic coating that provides a soft and permanent barrier to dirt, moisture, salt and staining)
Due to the choice of the paint, paper and canvas I have not noticed any levels of dust attaching itself to the art.

PLEASE NOTE: Colours and hues are sometimes distorted depending on monitor screens, can differ from mobile devices and tablets too. This artwork would look darker in place with little day light and colours will so pop up and are brihter in place with good day light .
