Mt Warning View No 1 by Anne Strambi

This distinctive mountain is located near Murwillumbah, in northern NSW.  It is known also as Wollumbin,
The summit of Wollumbin is a sacred place to the Bundjalung People, and was declared an Aboriginal Place in 2014.

Captain Cook named the peak Mount Warning in 1770. Visible from the ocean.  The peak warned mariners of
the treacherous offshore reefs along this stretch of coastline.

Thank you to Rod Moore for the lovely photo reference.
I  have used both brushes and palette knife to create areas of texture and softeness.
The painting is frames in a simple very light blue timber frame and is ready to hang.  The frame measures 37 cm x 30 cm, the artwork measures 30 cm x 23 cm.
