Mumma G came about because I had the creative urge to paint pink giraffes. The title ‘Mumma G’ has been given to this work because it represents and special moment between a mother and her child. The background has been built up in the work with abstract layers of magenta and various pink hues followed by spray painted stencil work through lace in navy. This has allowed strong contrast for the giraffe images to stand out vibrantly on the surface. Stencil work has also been added around the mother and her baby to enhance aesthetic appeal in the work and draw the viewers eye to the central focal point.
