Mum’s Poppies is a watercolour and ink painting on 300gsm cotton rag watercolour paper.

Painted during a trip home this still life depicts a bowl decorated with a Scottish landscape of the village of Pennan in Aberdeenshire holding a bouquet of flowers including the beautiful poppies from my mum’s garden.

Playing with pattern and colour the painting is made of watercolour washes and finished with ink linework in an art noveau/ stained glass style.
