Murphys Haystacks.
After crossing the Nullarbor last year, the magic of giant weathered granite rocks sitting in the middle of nowhere has stuck in my memory. Thought to be large haystacks by a traveller on a coach many years ago. Hence the name. I lay down on the red earth looking up into the dome canopy above trying to imagine how they were formed. Was there an inland sea? Was it an eruption of some sort. Were there hidden symbols and meanings and stories from ancient times.
Eerie and majestic at the same time.
My memory of them.
