Ned Kelly on Horse Horse – By Stefan Mager -Inspired by Sydney Nolan’s Ned Kelly design. The ceramic figurine displays Ned mounted on his horse. I have used special glazes to create this colourful, decorative piece.
Research has shown sculptures to provide higher emotional support than paintings. Unlike paintings which are limited to two dimensions, the sculpture reflects life in three-dimensional space. Sculpture inhabits the space shared by the viewer. Sculptures are tactile, one can touch them and feel their texture, weight and shape. The sculpture has a surprise function that can trigger pleasant psychological arousal resulting in a deeply satisfying and genuinely invigorating aesthetic experience.
