With a warm background of rose pink, the simple outline of a woman is shaped using a mix of black and white oil paints. Remembering that the woman is facing away from the viewer, all that can be seen is her bobbed haircut, neck, shoulder and upper back. Her body is not entirely in frame as if she has been split in two, or not in the focal zone of the photo. This has been of a deliberate nature to balance the painting with the background and add interest to the artwork.
