Perspective is achieved through a diverse range of brush techniques. Many of the focal points and background have been given a slightly rougher edge, while a softer and more precise approach is applied to the foreground so as to capture the landscape and water streams effectively. These areas are separated by contrast in colour and tonality.

The predominant colours used in the work are a mix of blues including cobalt, cerulean and phthalo, but are harmonised well by the use white, grey, deep red and black. Other splashes of colour include orange and green represented by a few sparse trees.
