Ocean Horizon Dream by Sam Askin

I love creating seascapes in general, and this work allowed me to cross the precipice between what I see in the world around me, and what I can conjure up in my own imagination from life’s influences. The artwork draws from experiences in many aspects of life. Elements in the foreground of the work are more bold and clearly defined, much as our experiences in time are to us as they happen. The further toward the horizon, or the future/imagination/dream, the more blurred and uncertain elements become. What lies at that horizon is up to your own mind. I enjoy the clash of vivid colour, darkness and depth in this peice to bring out similar depth of emotion when observing it. I love creating where elements clash and rules for light and detail are no longer governed by perspective and nature.
