The fort, backlit against the ocean creates a cinematic experience, framing the view of the ocean at sunset. The three empty chairs in the foreground lined up in the old concrete fort, weathered with age is a curious setting for this young woman, who sits alone in her thoughts. The ocean as is the experience life itself, an unstoppable force of nature, ever changing, however in this painting there is a calm and an appreciation of the present moment, as if time is paused for a brief moment as the the sun sets over the horizon.
