The inspiration for this painting comes from the loneliness and disconnection we can feel when family and friends live abroad for long periods of time.

Modern technologies can keep us in touch with loved ones, however,  that human touch is missing, the hugs, the laughs, the spontaneous connections we share when we see them regularly is no longer available to us.  Over the years we change and when we finally meet again it’s not the same,  something has been lost.  There are still  ‘Oceans Between’.

I love the versatility of working with cold wax and oils. It is like no other medium. The wax enables the oil paint to dry quickly. Textures can be built up easily and the work takes on an almost translucent textural quality. The medium can be as flexible as any other medium and more.

The original artwork can be purchased framed for $800.00 float mounted under photographers high grade glass surrounded by a natural timber frame. Contact us if interested in this option.
