Additional Information

‘Ochre Trail’  by Meg Shaw – is a contemporary landscape inspired by remembered images of Central Australia.

The colours of sunset dominate the painting – ribbons of mauves, pinks, oranges, reds and whites. Then, there’s earth colours – terracotta, oxides and siennas on the rock formations in the foreground.

I paint with environmentally friendly, Australian made acrylics. My tools for Ochre Trail are soft brushes, dabbing rags and palette knives (sometimes a plastic card cut into strips) to create the various textures of this amazing and unique, desert environment.

The painting has been worked on stretched canvas. It measures approximately 95 x 50 x 4 cm and rests in a handmade frame made of repurposed Merbau. The photos show the completed painting, the frame, close-ups, in situ, working with a palette knife and the sketched-out beginnings. ‘Ochre Trail’ has been sprayed several time with a protective finish.

*** Please note that the situ shots are virtual and are intended to show what the painting might look like hanging on a wall.

It has been painted with respect to Pitjantjatjara, Arrernte, Luritja and Warlpiri people of Central Australia.

Ochre Trail will be posted to you protected in recycled bubble wrap, placed in a crate and packed in recycled cardboard. It will be sent via Auspost. As I live in rural Tasmania now, please allow a little more time for delivery. Thank you.
