This piece will be on display at the ALA Art Prize 2022 in Melbourne from March 12th.

This work is reminiscent of a bygone era, when we stayed in the sun all day lathering our bodies with baby oil. It has an original vintage map in parts of the background. It reminds us of a time when the car would be overloaded with kids and legs would stick to the vinyl seats because of the heat. This is part of body of work that takes a contemporary took on an innocent and carefree time and place in Australia.

The silver in this painting makes the piece have a different feel throughout the day as it simmers in the changing sunlight. The bathers are an original vintage piece that I have in my collection that I drew upon for inspiration.
