On the Road to Narrabri by Kathryn Fenton – As with the tranquility and simplicity of this country scene, Kathryn’s approach to the subject were to exercise minimal brushstrokes and a limited palette to capture the essence of the place.
This work on paper was painted plein air on the main road to Narrabri. What caught her attention was the bleached vastness typical of the Australian bush with undulating paddocks dotted with muted pinks and greys of the gums against the backdrop of the mauve, blue mountains.
This mixed media work was painted in gouache, ink, charcoal and pastel on 300gsm watercolor paper and custom framed in white timber with a double mount ready to hang.
