As one of the largest protected areas in Southeast Asia, Tanjung Puting is renowned for its population of critically endangered orangutans. The park’s dense tropical forests provide a sanctuary for these magnificent creatures, along with a myriad of other wildlife species, including proboscis monkeys, gibbons, and exotic bird species.

We encountered numerous wild orangutans plus many semi wild orangutans that have been rehabilitated and reintroduced into the forests.

Witnessing the innocence in the eyes of these stunning creatures is something that will never leave me.
