A special moment in time for Deb and myself, Sandra was the first orangutan we observed in Tanjung Puting national park, Borneo.

Like many of her kind, Sandra had been rescued, rehabilitated and released back into the wild and exists as a semi wild orangutan.

She is able to enjoy the fruits of the jungle, but can also choose to compliment her diet with food provided daily at the feeding stations.

Sitting back at a respectful distance and quietly watching Sandra enjoy some sweet potato provided by a local ranger was a wonderful start to our Borneo experience.
