This stunning young male orangutan wasn’t happy to see us and he let us know by violently shaking and snapping limbs from the trees as he approached a remote feeding station in the Tanjung Puting national park in Borneo.
Whilst there are some feeding stations open to the public, there are many more in the jungle, supervised by dedicated rangers who monitor orangutans who have been released back into the wild.
This ensures minimum interaction with humans and allows the orangutans to become closer to truly wild.
We were priviledged to visit this station, meet the rangers and observe this stunning young male.
