Ornaments of Nature recognises the natural beauty of the coast. This piece was painted at Phillip Island, a popular holiday destination for my family, in Victoria. The huge boulders and rocks are composed of granite and heavy with iron from volcanic rock. The texture is rough in places and smooth in others. In this piece I used a wide palette knife and sweeping gestures to capture the organic shapes and feeling exuded by these giants of natures. Ornamental in their nature, each one unique in their beauty.
