Orpheus’s Quest by Kathryn Fenton – Expressionist Otherworldly Big Flower Landscape. This Big Flower Landscape is part of an ongoing series with this one delving into Greek Mythology.

This work is inspired by the tale of Orpheus travelling to the underground for a cure to bring Eurydite, his wife back from the dead.

His deal with Hades is rescinded when Orpheus’s lack of trust has his wife lost forever.

My aim with these series of works is for the viewer to escape into other worlds where anything is possible.

The heavens and earth are tethered together and imbued with symbolism of fleshy flowers and heavenly beings

where order and chaos abide.
