Outback Spirit by Carolyne Jane – Outback Spirit is a celebration of the heart of Australia , the vast open land that feels both ancient and alive. I wanted to capture that deep, red earth that glows pink under the sun, the dusty tracks that stretch endlessly, and the feeling of freedom that comes from standing in such an expansive space. The soft pinks and greens woven through the work represent the scrub and spinifex that survive and thrive in this rugged terrain, while the ochres and siennas evoke the warmth and pulse of the land itself.

For me, this painting speaks to the energy and resilience of the outback, its strength, mystery, and quiet beauty. I worked instinctively, layering colours and marks to create a sense of movement and rhythm, as if the land were breathing. Outback Spirit is not just a landscape; it’s an emotional response to that raw, untouched beauty and a connection to the timeless soul of the Australian countryside.
