PARTNER FOR ‘SENTINELS’

Whilst figurative painting is my first love, I also paint still life and I relish the effect of light on form. This tableau is painted from life in my light filled studio where the strong Australian light creates beautiful vignettes. It’s made even more special with the addition of two wooden urns which were my parents’ and were such a constant in my life growing up on the farm. Those two little urns were always in the background witnessing the chaotic life of a big loving family – the unconditional love, the laughter, the fighting, the joy, the sadness and ultimately the grief.
