Perpetual State of Flux – By Kathryn Fenton. Surrealist Figurative – This work is a culmination and expression of Kathryn’s state of mind over these past 18 months in particular, due to the current global health and socio-economic challenges we all face today.
She draws from the Baroque language as a springboard to build figures and environments only to allow them to collapse and morph into another form.
In this painting she particularly concentrated on using monochromatic tones to concentrate the viewers gaze and perceptions on movement, entanglement and flux.
It also represents humanity falling over itself in the rise to power and prestige, crushing those in its wake in the race to get there.
