Persian Layer Cake (Diptych) by Brendan Walsh (ColdGhost)

This original painting continues my experimentation with using different techniques to apply the paint.

The work was created using Recycled Paper, and the paint was added with rags, plastic, scrapers, paint pens, rollers, spray packs, then finished off street poster fragments.

The work is directly influenced by Graffiti in City Laneways, Vintage Billboards and other weathered surfaces. The artwork is also inspired by my love of gestural abstraction and my obsession with using spray paint.

This artwork has a textured finish created by built up layers of paper and paint, a visual effect mimicking the look you would see in the street where this effect is created over time on Graffiti Walls & Advertising Spaces, Insitu examples are not to scale.

The work comes in two white frames mounted under a clear perspex sheet for protection.
