In my work, I seek to capture the delicate beauty of nature while celebrating the tactile richness of oil paint. Using the impasto technique, I transform the canvas into a multidimensional surface where texture and form merge to evoke emotion and presence.

This piece, depicting pink roses in a glass vase, reflects my fascination with contrasts—soft, fleeting blooms set against the permanence of thick, textured paint. The palette knife allows me to sculpt each petal and leaf, infusing the painting with movement and vitality. The creamy, vibrant layers of paint invite the viewer to experience the roses not just visually but almost tangibly, as though they could feel the texture of each petal under their fingertips.

The white cylindrical stool and pastel-toned background create a serene simplicity, framing the roses as the focal point of the composition. By paring down the setting, I aim to draw attention to the interplay of light, colour, and texture, creating a dialogue between the ephemeral and the enduring.

Ultimately, my art is a celebration of imperfection and the beauty found in the raw, unrefined gestures of the medium. It is my hope that this work resonates with viewers, inspiring them to pause and appreciate the fleeting moments of beauty that surround us.
