Pink Sky Rain Dance – by Alanah Jarvis

This painting pays tribute to and acknowledges the Australia’s First People throughout Australia and their continuing connection to land, sea and community.

Rain is so many things to different people, it has spiritual meaning, can be the ideal excuse to wrap yourself in a blanket with a mug of your favourite drink, or for my grandmother, it was a time to get into the garden. It can be an inconvenience or something to dance in.

Rain can be devasting or something to celebrate and will always play an essential role in our existence which is simply fascinating. I love how this painting sits perfectly amongst a room of texture and timber, perfect for a coastal theme or country getaway. Although framed in Tasmanian Oak, the sides of the painting have been painted to ensure no exposed canvas is seen.
