Pirouette by Evelyn Hambros

ASYMMETRICAL DIPTYCH: (asymmetrical properties in size of the canvases & in application of paint for the backgrounds of both canvases)

FRAME:
Bespoke custom framing in Tasmanian Oak, finished in Scandinavian oil, enhancing uniqueness of grain and ensuring lasting protection. Crafted with precision by experienced artisan.

Artwork is varnished providing protection against environmental factors whilst enhancing the pigments in the colours.

From the onset, I planned this work to be an asymmetrical diptych (two different size canvases forming one work). As I began working on the white background, it became obvious to me that it was necessary to treat both white backgrounds with a difference; making one smoother than the obvious thick & crackled effect of the other. Thus enhancing the asymmetrical properties of the work.

Original artwork.
