Poised Peach by Sioux Tempestt – I’ve been working as a public artist in Perth for the past few years and at last count I have painted around 40 large scale murals. Each artwork is site specific, but I am usually asked by clients to paint with bright colours. This painting was an opportunity for me to paint at a large scale and blend beautifully understated colours together – peachy tones, charcoals, browns, cream with just a touch of blue and black to create contrast and a focal point. The intuitive mark making has become synonymous with my abstract style. I found the process somewhat meditative and was inspired to paint on the floor in the studio after watching the film Pollack (with Ed Harris). Walking around the canvas while painting gave me different perspectives throughout the process. Careful not to overwork, I finished when I felt the composition was just right, leaving room for the work to breathe. I see this piece being just as comfortable making a statement in a corporate office or in a home.

The canvas is unstretched and will be shipped rolled up, ready to be stretched and even framed if you wish.
