South Australian artist Amber Gittins has a love for colour and movement in her paintings. She uses acrylics as she loves the fast drying time of acrylic paints, which helps in the creation of the natural flowing movement that give her that signature style. Amber finds painting to be such a meditative and calming process and once painting everything else on her mind disappears. It’s just her and the artwork in front of her. A moving calmness forms across the canvas and this is an unconscious result of this meditative state that she feels. This tranquil flow is not forced, it just happens instinctively as she relaxes in the moment.
Her colour palettes are ever changing with each piece, which can also coincide with her current mood and also varies depending on the time of year and season she is in.
Nature is her constant inspiration and she loves to explore outside and take long walks in nature regularly, another form of just being free for her and learning to take life slowly.
