The first piece created after a period of rest, or creative block even, holds a special magic. This was true for me when creating this painting, as I was very free and without expectations, focusing on play and mark making. I love creating wonky lines with sticks dipped in ink, I love the tension between a strong value contrast and complimentary colours, in this case the orange and blue. All this adds to the emotional depth of the artwork.

ORIENTATION – can be chosen upon purchase. I purposefully sign the artwork on the back as the orientation is often a personal choice, although I usually have a favourite way of hanging and if not specified, will wire it that way.

This artwork is unframed but the side are neatly finished in white as to not detract from the art. Varnished for protection and ready to hang.
