Purple Reign – Abstract modernist acrylic on canvas by Shana Danon

Inspired by my signature line work ‘Modernist Blue’ this luscious colour filled berry, burgundy, purple, indigo and copper acrylic on canvas brings warmth and depth with abstract organic shapes and copper accents.

The line work was drawn in 2014, and a version of it was painted in purples and pops of yellow gouache as an exercise in complementary colour at design school. I had always wanted to paint a larger version on canvas, and here it is!

The name was inspired by the song Purple Rain, I listen to Prince in the studio while I paint!
