Retreat 4 by Kate Wise – Retreating to a quiet spot under a tree or a hilltop with a view can reinvigorate Kate’s creative spark, replenish her energy and inspire fresh ideas. We don’t all have the time or resources to retreat into the healing sanctuary of nature. So Kate has created this new series called ‘Retreat’ to give you (and herself) beautiful moments of quiet contemplation as your eye wanders over these paintings. ‘Retreat 4’ harks back to the curving branches of Eugene von Geurard and the open vistas of Arthur Streeton. Her colour palette, inspired by Clarice Beckett, is deliberately muted to enhance the feeling of tranquility and peace.
