Painting is an escape from a world which often feels chaotic, everything hurtling along at dangerous speed. Sometimes the cosmos conspires favourably and says ‘You’re exactly where you should be’. It’s an invitation to embrace and relish the extraordinary in the everyday.

Pondering those moments in time where the rhythm of life falls into sync and everything somehow just comes together. The planets align, all your ducks are in a row, you woke up on the right side of the bed and your timing is perfect. ✨

In this body of work I explore the connection and divide between my public art and studio practices. Free of client constraints, the dynamic mark making is intuitively expressive. Resisting boundaries the resulting aesthetic invites an open dialogue.

These are the largest studio paintings on canvas I’ve created and I love working at that scale. Created over several months, the works experiment between a bold punch of colour combinations to gentler pastels.
