River Stones by David Clare – Another from my Pebble series, this one a bit dirtier, muddier, hence the River Stones title. But still plenty of colour. I do try to keep these somewhat abstract, and resist the urge to make them realistic because i want the feelings of movement and energy to come through in the painting. So carefully blended oils are disrupted by splashes of circular white paint to suggest ripples on the surface of the water.
