Robot Love: by Brendan Walsh (ColdGhost)

This original painting was created on recycled canvas, using layered street posters and continues my experimentation with using different techniques to apply the paint which was applied using Sponges, rags, plastic, scrapers, paint pens, spray packs, in fact anything except brushes.

The artwork is an Abstract Statement piece and will give maximum impact to any room. The work has thick layers of street posters and paint creating an abstract effect and then a vintage toy robot was hand painted on juxtaposing the abstract canvas.

My art is directly influenced by Graffiti in City Laneways, Vintage Billboards and other weathered surfaces. This piece is also inspired by my love of gestural abstraction and my obsession with using spray paint.
