Sabbath: The place of Rest.

Rest is something that is very undervalued and misunderstood. In western culture, we value busy-ness. If you are busy, you are clearly successful. If you are busy, you must be doing something important. If you are busy, you must be adding something of value to society.

All these things can be true, but then we don’t know how to rest anymore. There’s no turn off and down time.

Sabbath is an old school Jewish word in the Bible. I don’t even fully understand it myself, however I do know that it’s for rest. A day of rest, an attitude of rest. A place to spend time with God and family, and just breathe. This painting for me is rest filled. It is a little piece of a sanctuary.
It is Sabbath, a place of rest.
