Additional Information

Sands of Time by Rosemary Legat – Acyrlic paint, acrylic ink, intense pencil, acrylic ink pen on watercolour paper.

Inspiration for this delightful abstract duo came from a few cropped mobile phone photos (pebbles, wood textures, rust, peeling paint) that I took while strolling around our rustic suburban garden.

My intuitive painted base layers started with a very light colour palette and had the look of sweeping desert sands.

I slowly built up my layers through sketching, painting and marking until a unique, geological, possibly subterranean abstract, morphed in front of my eyes on my two sheets of watercolour paper.

Many of my artworks are very detailed therefore I really enjoyed keeping this duo minimalistic, even though there is much to stimulate the eye.

I aimed for two intriguing pieces to look cohesive in their colour, design and feel when hung together and I believe I have achieved that. I hope you think so too.

Dimensions: Both are 42cm (W) x 58 (H) = Diptych total 84cm (W) x 58cm (H)

Sands of Time is a very organic piece herefore the dimensions of these paintings includes a rough 1cm border which can be covered during your chosen framing method or left exposed.

As they both require framing my artwork gallery includes examples of how this pair could look framed and hung.

Please check dimensions, in-situ images for display purposes only and may not be to scale.

Both pieces signed on the front.
