Scar Tree Country – Home by Cara Shields – On Wiradjuri and Wangaibon Country, tree carving and bark removal was common. The Stylized lines and dots represent my interpretation of regrowth lines from bark removal while also incorporating design elements of the deep carving lines.

Using the traditional pigment of yellow ochre sourced from the Dubbo area that is combined with acrylic to create a textured application of the paint with different shades of ochre coming through.

A contemporary aerial view of Wellington, Dubbo and Narromine represented by the three circles together on opposite ends, the middle being my home base.
