“Scrubs Up Allright” by David Clare is Inspired by the rugged Australian bush.

The bush, or “scrub” that is the Australian landscape is harsh, it is rough and rugged. At first glance it isn’t pretty, but there is colour, there is action and energy, and in this painting I have tried to capture that. Large scratchy brushstrokes, with lots of movement. Colours that aren’t pastel, but aren’t bright and pretty….more sunburnt, and weathered. So, our country might not have the lush greens of Europe, nor the turquoise oceans of the Maldives, but, it still “Scrubs Up Allright”! Unframed.
