Sea Sirens – by Alanah Jarvis

This painting pays tribute to and acknowledges the Australia’s First People throughout Australia and their continuing connection to land, sea and community.

Storms over a stormy sea can be a dream to watch, especially while its raining and you can rug up with your favorite drink and a blanket. It can also be a bit fun to be amongst!
Having a horizon in your room can create the illusion of space as it draws the viewer to look out into the perceived distance and blue can help with mental health as its one of the top three colours that have a calming affect on our minds.
Many layers have been used to create the illusion of light and water hitting a window with raindrops, and the edges have been painted to create a faux frame. Some images show a frame so the viewer can see how this would look.
