Shine by Rosemary Legat – Mixed media on thick sided cradled wood board.

I created a body of work on cradled wood panels to be part of my art exhibition at the hairdressers I go to in Preston, Melbourne (Raw Edge & Beauty). Shine was one of these pieces and like the other three figurative artworks I created at the time was inspired by a zoom life drawing session I previously participated in.

I used the same model’s pose as inspiration for the four individual dynamic figurative artworks included in my display. Each of the four figurative pieces are similar to each other but each has its own personality. Each piece is unique and beautiful in its own way.

Shine is a captivating mix of abstract patterns and bold colour. Thick with texture due to her many intuitive layers.

Does Shine have a subtle message to share? Be brave, let yourself shine, regardless of who you are.

Varnished for protection and signed on the back.

Sides painted white.
