Silver Surfer by Eva Johnova

This beautiful artwork is created on a re-purposed surfboard.
By recycling used surfboards for these artworks, I am giving them a second chance at life by becoming a beautiful artwork.
The surface is not perfect.
These boards have stories. They have been surfed, touched, used, and loved by their owners.
Depending on the techniques used and the amount of detail involved in the finish, these unique boards take up to 25 hours to finish.
This particular piece is created from acrylic mirror sheets (acrylic mirror sheets are as reflective as a glass mirror, but they are lighter in weight and are not as breakable as glass mirror).
Each piece is individually hand cut and glued to the surface in a modern mosaic pattern. All pieces are then filled with white mosaic grout to make the surface nice and smooth.
This piece can be hung horizontally or vertically. Hanging hooks will be attached to the back of the surfboard, so please let me know which way you prefer to hang the piece.
This piece will reflect light beautifully when hung, just like a mirror does.
