Abstract Mixed Media Painting on Canvas

This work was created using Recycled Street Posters and other found Paper which was first layered up on the canvas to create abstract colours and textures.

This Painting was a continuation of my recent experimentation of using different techniques to apply the paint, to capture the urban landscape.

The paint was applied using Sugar Spray Packs, Rollers, rags, scrapers, Paint Pens and then pencil, in-fact anything except paint brushes.

This artwork is directly influenced by Graffiti in City Laneways, and inspired by the streets where the posters are collected. Vintage Billboards and other weathered surfaces are also captured in this work. This mixed media painting is very textured from the thick built up layers of paper and paint, with fragments of the posters becoming part of the overall feel of the work.

This piece was also inspired by my love of gestural abstraction and my obsession with using spray paint.

The work is a Large Abstract Statement Piece that would create maximum impact to any room.

The artwork comes on a quality stretched canvas with the paper wrapped around the edges of the canvas and is ready to hang or the work can also be framed.
