SOLAR FLAIR (Diptych) by Brendan Walsh (ColdGhost)

This original painting continues my experimentation with using different techniques to apply the paint and express myself.

The work was created by first layering paper and paint on canvas to create a textured effect. Then using sponges, rags, plastic, scrapers, paint pens, rollers, spray packs, stencils basically anything except brushes to apply the paint.

The work is directly influenced by Graffiti in City Laneways, Vintage Billboards and other weathered surfaces. The work is also inspired by my love of gestural abstraction and my obsession with using spray paint.

This artwork has a splashy loose painted finish, a visual effect mimicking the look you would see in the street where this effect is created over time on Graffiti Walls & Advertising Spaces, Insitu examples are not to scale.

The work comes on 2 quality stretched canvases and can be hung together or with a gap and they are ready to hang, the dark grey undercoat wraps around the sides of the canvas to finish off the work neatly, so they don’t require framing.
