Some Things Don’t Need to be Fixed… by Kim Neil

I have heard it said that being a parent, is having your heart living externally to your body.
I don’t know how to parent and I have made a lot of mistakes, but what I do know is that I love my kids more than seems possible.
My kids have their own struggles and it is so hard to know when to step in and step back.
This painting is about my experience as a Mum wanting desperately to fix it, to take the burdens from my kids, to make it better and then hearing a whisper deep in my soul, “some thing’s don’t need to be fixed”.
An ode to neurodivergence.

Signed on the front.
