Oil painting of a surfer, seemingly suspended in air just before hitting the water after falling off his board. Recently on Gowie beach in the Royal National Park, I observed this surfer paddle out and catch this wave.
I was lucky enough to snap a picture of him suspended in air above the water just as his head was about to hit the water, This is painted in oil paints on a cradled wood panel which has been sealed both sides and double gessoed before painting. It is unframed, the cradled frame edges are painted black.
