Additional Information

Somers Looking West by Michael Wolfe – 152x56cm conservation framed in a walnut stain Mountain Ash timber frame. Framed size 154x58cm.

“Like many Australians, I grew up in an era when summer holidays were long, hot and languorous. My senses still tingle at the smell of wood smoke from the BBQ, burning asphalt, eucalyptus and chlorine. Days moved slowly at the local pool and on the many beaches stretching down the Westernport Bay to the Mornington Peninsula. Although I live in country Victoria, I often spend summer in Somers with dear friends who kindly lend me their carport for a makeshift painting camp. These paintings, completed in 2024, are a celebration of the beach and the gentler rhythms of holidays.”

Original artwork by award winning and internationally exhibited artist Michael Wolfe.

This beautiful contemporary abstract landscape painting draws inspiration from the landscape around Michael’s home in Central Victoria.

A bold and colourful statement piece from an artist who is passionate about our Australian landscape.

As a painter and photographer, Michael has exhibited widely in Australia and internationally and his work is included in public, corporate and private collections.
